Organizing and accessing contact information in Outlook.com
In Outlook on the web or Outlook.com, contact lists are managed from People. If the list controls are missing, the most likely cause is that the left folder/navigation pane is hidden.
Try this:
- Open People in Outlook on the web or Outlook.com.
- Turn the folder/navigation pane back on using the menu icon near the left side of the toolbar.
- In the left pane, look for All contact lists or Your contact lists.
- Select the contact list, then choose Edit to remove members or update the list.
- To remove a person from a list, either:
- open the list and select Edit, then select the x next to the name or email address, or
- select the contact, choose Add to list, and remove it from the list there.
To create a new contact list in Outlook on the web or Outlook.com:
- Open People.
- Select a contact.
- Choose Add to list.
- Select New contact list.
If the People page still shows only categories or the New contact list option is missing or greyed out, and especially if others in the organization see the same behavior, that points to a service-side issue with the web contacts experience. In that case, a Microsoft 365 admin should open a support request in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Support > Help & Support.
