I tried to log into a Microsoft teams meeting this morning and I got a message that I could not use my account for that meeting. In my attempts to get in, I've resent passwords multiple times, switched accounts, etc. I seem to be in a loop.

    Dear janette,

I wish I could inspect the meeting policy and your account sign in history directly and fix this for you, but the message could mean several different things, and repeated password resets are unlikely to help if the meeting itself is restricting which accounts can join.

One thing worth trying right away: rather than signing in, open the meeting link in a private or incognito browser window and look for Continue on this browser, then join as a guest by entering your name. That bypasses the account conflict entirely and will usually get you into the meeting while the underlying cause is sorted out.

To work out what is actually happening, could you share a few more details?

    • What was the exact error message?
    • Were you joining through the Teams desktop app, a browser, or the mobile app?
    • Is the account a personal Microsoft account or a work or school account?
    • Did the invitation arrive at your primary email address or at an alias?
    • Did the invitation offer a Join without signing in or Continue as guest option?

Once I have a clearer picture, I will be in a better position to point you in the right direction. Looking forward to your reply.
