    Try these checks in order:

    1. Check whether Outlook.com is having a service interruption. If the service status is not green, wait and try again.
    2. Check mailbox and cloud storage capacity. If Microsoft cloud storage or the mailbox is full, email cannot be sent or received. Messages sent to the account while storage was full are bounced back to the sender and are unrecoverable.
    3. Check the account state. If the password was changed recently, update it on the phone. The account can also be temporarily blocked because of unusual sign-in activity.
    4. If the problem is only on the phone, remove the mobile device partnership and sync again:
      1. In Outlook.com, go to Settings > General > Mobile devices.
      2. Select the phone in the list and delete the device partnership.
      3. Select Save.
      4. Power off the phone completely.
      5. Turn it back on after a few seconds and sync the mailbox again.
    5. If using Outlook Lite, also check these common causes:
      • The app may have been closed before sending completed, and the message may now be in Drafts.
      • The daily message sending limit may have been exceeded.
    6. For mobile-device send/receive troubleshooting, the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant can be used for automatic checks.

    Dear @Nancy Weisbrod,

To ensure I understand your request correctly and to support you as effectively as possible, I need more specific information from you:

    • Are you using a business/ school account or a personal one?

In the meantime, kindly try these steps:

1> Reset the account in the app

If you use Outlook for iOS: Open Outlook > your profile picture > Settings > select the affected account > Reset Account

If that does not help, remove the account and add it again.

    2> Check for authentication issue

If you recently changed your password, open the email app and complete any sign-in prompt.

For the built-in iPhone Mail app:

Open Settings > Apps > Mail > Mail Accounts > select the affected account.

Look for a password, account, or sign-in warning.

If multifactor authentication was recently enabled, the account may need to be authenticated again.

    3> Uninstall - reinstall Outlook

Please uninstall and reinstall Outlook app and check if the issue persists.

I hope the information shared helps point you in the right direction. Please try the steps above and let me know if they work. If not, we can continue working together to narrow this down.

The first response may not always resolve the issue right away, but with your help and more details, we can work toward a solution.
