If the events are being added from scam emails or invites in Outlook.com, use these steps:

    1. Do not click anything in the event Do not open links, call phone numbers, download attachments, or reply to the invite.
    2. Remove the event in Outlook on the web Open Outlook.com Calendar, open the suspicious event, and use Delete or Decline. If there is an option to avoid sending a response, choose that so the sender does not get confirmation the address is active.
    3. Check for an unknown added calendar In Outlook.com Calendar, look at the calendar list on the left. If there is an unknown shared calendar or subscription, open its menu and choose Remove, Unsubscribe, or a similar option. This is especially important if the event keeps coming back after deletion.
    4. Turn off automatic events from email In Outlook on the web:
      • Select Settings
      • Select Options or Mail
      • Select Calendar > Events from email
      • Choose Don't add events to my calendar from email
It is also possible to leave the feature on and clear individual categories such as Flights, Hotel reservations, Car rentals, Package delivery, Dining reservations, Events, or Bills.
    5. Report related messages as phishing or junk if found in Mail If the calendar item came from a related email, report that message in Outlook.com Mail.
    6. If the event claims there is a problem with the device or account, treat it as a scam Real Microsoft error messages do not include phone numbers to call, and Microsoft does not cold call to say there is a problem with a device.

If suspicious events continue after deleting them and turning off Events from email, the most likely remaining cause is an unwanted subscribed or shared calendar that needs to be removed.

They have not hacked your account. They can add events to your Calendar without having any access to your account.

    Spam Calendar Events

This is a know issue. Microsoft is aware of the problem but there is currently no fix. Unless you are in an IT Managed Environment there is nothing you can do to stop them.

Spam Group Joins and Calendar Events

If you are seeing Groups in your Calendar that you never joined, this is another source of Spam Calendar Events.

This is a know issue. Microsoft is aware of the problem but there is currently no fix.
