Daily Calendar Time Display

Outlook 365 defaults to showing midnight (12:00 AM) at the top of the calendar grid because the Work time setting only highlights your active hours. It does not control which time row appears at the top of the calendar view.

AFAIK, this is a design limitation in which Outlook treats work hours primarily as a visual indicator, such as shading non-working time, rather than using them to determine the scroll position or starting point of the daily calendar grid. As a result, the calendar may open with 12:00 AM at the top, requiring you to scroll down to your normal 9:00 AM start time.

What is your time scale? Outlook will try to start with work hours (or current time), but if there is room for more tome, Outlook fills the space with the morning hours first, then evening. If you use 1 hour scale, it's almost always going to start at midnight unless the calendar window is short. Try using 15 or 30 min scale instead.

If your monitor is tall or is hi-res, and it still shows too many hours, don't open Outlook at full screen.
