Why has my name changed when I type my e-mail address to send an e-mail to myself?

Something weird is showing on my e-mail account. When I start typing my e-mail address to send an e-mail to myself under my e-mail address it says "Reward Recipient" instead of my name. I went into my settings and it shows my name in my settings. I sent a test e-mail to myself and it shows my name which is good. But what is up with the "Reward Recipient" name??? VERY ODD!!!

    Hi, there. The issue seems to have corrected itself for the most part. Now when I type my e-mail address it either starts showing "Reward Recipient" then changes to my name or shows my name right away as it should. Thank you for your responses.

    Two things to try.

    1 -- Add a Contact entry for yourself with your email address and correct name.

    2 -- If that doesn't work, clear your Suggested People (Autocomplete Contacts Cache)

    Hi Amanda Bhaggu

    I understand why seeing “Reward Recipient” under your own email address would seem unusual. Since the test message displays your correct name after it is sent, your account’s actual display name appears to be correct. The unexpected wording is most likely coming from an outdated or incorrect recipient suggestion stored by Outlook.

    Please try the following:

    • Open a new email and begin typing your email address in the To field.
    • When the suggestion showing “Reward Recipient” appears, point to it and select the X beside it. You can also highlight it with the arrow keys and press Delete.
    • Enter your full email address again manually, then send another test message to yourself.
    • If the wording still appears, open People/Contacts, search for your own email address, and delete or correct any saved contact that shows “Reward Recipient.”

    This should remove the incorrect local suggestion without changing your account or email address. If the entry returns, please let us know whether you are using Outlook.com on the web, new Outlook, classic Outlook, Mac, or mobile so the next steps can be tailored to your version.
