A family of Microsoft spreadsheet software with tools for analyzing, charting, and communicating data
I apologize for the inconvenience, I know this must be affecting your workflow.
However, I tested this behavior on my end using Excel for the web and was not able to reproduce the issue you described. The buttons remained clickable during my testing even if I closed and reopened the workbook.
To help determine whether this may be related to a browser or cache issue, could you please try the following:
- Clear your browser cache and cookies.
- Open the workbook in an InPrivate/Incognito browser window.
- Test using a different supported browser (use Edge if possible).
- Verify whether the behavior is the same for all affected workbooks.
Additionally, when you mention the buttons are "unclickable," could you clarify what you are seeing?
- Are the buttons grayed out/disabled?
- Or do the buttons appear normal and can be clicked, but nothing happens when clicked?
- Do you receive any error messages or prompts?
Could you also create a new Office Script from scratch? You can copy the existing script code, create a new Office Script, paste the code into the new script, save it, and then add a new button linked to that script.
I look forward for your response.
