Hi there I have 2 accounts a personal and a business both have the emails

When I try to add my business login to teams I can't it keeps throwing this error and I'm stuck going around in circles (see below). I've tried deleting, clearing cache, removing my personal account but everytime it just reloads my personal account and when I try to get into my business account it gives me this - super frustrating.

Can you help?

    Hi @Channon Coaching

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, it sounds like you have both a personal Microsoft account and a work/business account using the same email address. This can sometimes cause sign-in conflicts in Microsoft Teams, where Teams repeatedly picks up the personal account instead of allowing you to sign in with the business account.

As a first step, I recommend changing the email alias of your personal Microsoft account to avoid the conflict:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account aliases page: Manage account aliases
    2. Sign in with your personal Microsoft account (not your work account).
    3. Select Add email.  User's image
    4. Create a new email alias.  User's image
    5. Set the new alias as your Primary Alias.  User's image
    6. After the change is completed, use the new email address when signing in to your personal Microsoft account.

You can also refer to this Microsoft article for additional guidance: Add or remove an email alias in Outlook.com

After changing the personal account alias, please clear the Microsoft Teams credentials, then try signing in again with your business account:

    Remove cached Teams credentials

    1. Close Teams.
    2. Open Control Panel > Credential Manager.  User's image
    3. Select Windows Credentials.  User's image
    4. Remove any entries related to:
      • Microsoft Teams
      • Microsoft Office
      • Microsoft 365
    5. Restart the computer.
    6. Launch Teams and sign in with your business account.

Thank you again for your time and understanding. I really appreciate your patience, and I'm here to help. Looking forward to your response!
