Hi,

Can we use standalone edge without edge sync to use SMTP relay over port 587.

Edge without exchange and installed in work group with no access to active directory server.

Only port 25 SMTP relay works or port 587 also works

Based on my research, an Exchange Edge Transport server can be used without EdgeSync.

For SMTP relay, Exchange supports Custom Receive connectors on Edge Transport servers, which can be configured with a specific local IP address and TCP port.

However, port 587 is not the default Client Receive connector on Edge Transport. The Client usage type, which uses port 587 by default for authenticated SMTP submission, isn't available on Edge Transport servers.

If you are considering port 587 for your SMTP relay scenario, you may want to review the Custom Receive connector configuration and authentication requirements to determine whether it fits your setup.
