When I send an email to a channel in Teams, how do I view the message content on the screen without downloading it with the original email view? (Send mail with the e-mail address import function)

When you send an email, the content of the email is displayed directly on the screen, but in some emails, the contents can only be checked by pressing the original view email button to download it.

Please tell us what criteria the content is shown immediately and what is not.

    Hello @Bennett Olivia,

Thank you for reaching out and for explaining your concern.

When an email is sent to a Microsoft Teams channel, Teams attempts to display the email content directly within the channel conversation. However, if the email is too large to be displayed properly, Teams may show only part of the content and provide the View original email option instead.

Selecting View original email normally downloads a copy of the original message, which can then be opened using Outlook or another application that supports the email file format. This allows the complete message, original formatting, and attachment details to be viewed as they appeared in the source email.

At this time, Microsoft’s public documentation only identifies email size as a reason the message may not be displayed directly in the channel. It does not provide a specific size threshold or a setting that forces Teams to display the complete content of every email within the conversation.
For more information, please refer to: Send an email to a channel in Microsoft Teams

I understand that having to download the original email may not be the most convenient experience, especially if you would prefer to review the entire message directly within Teams. I therefore recommend sharing this request through the Microsoft Teams · Community

Teams shows the email inline when it can render the message in the channel conversation. When an email is too large to view in the conversation, Teams shows View original email instead.

    Supported criteria from the documentation:

    1. If the email is too large, it may not be shown directly in the conversation.
    2. In that case, select View original email under the email in the channel to see it in its original format.
    3. There is no additional documented rule in the provided content that defines other rendering criteria beyond the email being too large to view in the conversation.

So, based on the available documentation, the only stated criterion is size: some emails are displayed directly in the channel, and emails that are too large are only available through View original email.
