I am not able to print even though the printer is connected and recognized by bluetooth. I have reinstalled to drivers, but still cannot print.

Since the printer is already recognized by Bluetooth and reinstalling drivers did not help, focus on the Windows printer state and print services:

    1. Make sure the printer is set as the default printer
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      • Select the affected printer and choose Set as default.
      • If Set as default is not available, turn off Let Windows manage my default printer first.
    2. Restart the Print Spooler service
      • Press Windows key + R.
      • Type services.msc and press Enter.
      • Find Print Spooler.
      • Right-click it and select Restart. This refreshes the service that handles print jobs and often clears temporary offline or recognition issues.
    3. Clear any stuck print jobs
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      • Select the printer.
      • Open Open print queue.
      • Select ... and choose Cancel all if jobs are stuck.
    4. Confirm the Bluetooth connection
      • Verify Bluetooth is enabled on both the PC and the printer.
      • Make sure the printer is within range.
      • If Bluetooth connection problems continue, use the Windows Bluetooth troubleshooting guidance: Fix Bluetooth problems in Windows.
    5. Remove and reinstall the printer Since reinstalling drivers alone did not resolve it, remove the printer itself and add it again:
      • Go to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      • Select the printer and choose Remove.
      • Then select Add device next to Add a printer or scanner and follow the prompts.
    6. Run the printer troubleshooter in Get Help On Windows 11, run the automated printer troubleshooter in the Get Help app. It can automatically diagnose and attempt to fix printer connection problems.
    7. Restart the PC After removing/re-adding the printer or restarting the spooler, restart the PC to refresh the services Windows uses to communicate with the printer.

If the issue started after adding another printer, setting the correct printer as default is especially important because Windows may be sending jobs to the wrong device.

    Hi,

    What is the printer model?

Check if the printer is connected to your home Wi-Fi network.

    Thanks.

The fact that Windows recognizes the printer over Bluetooth but still shows it as offline is an important clue.
I would first try to determine whether this is a Windows printing-path issue rather than a problem with the printer itself.

A few checks may narrow it down quickly: In Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners, open the printer and check its current status. Does Windows show Offline, Ready, or another status?

Try printing a Windows Test Page from the printer's properties. If the Test Page also fails, the problem is probably below the individual application level.

If possible, print something from another device using the same printer. If another computer or phone can print successfully, that points more strongly toward the Windows 11 PC rather than the printer.

Check whether the problem occurs from every application or only one application. For example, if Notepad can print but another program cannot, I would investigate that application separately.

Since the printer is being recognized through Bluetooth, I would also verify that the printer has been added to Windows as the correct printer device and that Windows is using the appropriate printer driver/connection. Simply seeing the device under Bluetooth does not necessarily mean the Windows print connection is configured correctly.

I would avoid repeatedly reinstalling drivers until these checks are done. Knowing whether the Windows Test Page works, what status Windows reports, and whether the printer works from another device should make it much easier to identify whether the issue is the connection, Windows print system, or driver.

If you can provide the exact printer model and the Windows 11 version, that would also help narrow down the next step.

    Regards
    Deanna

    Hi Robert Balin,

    Thank you for your post.

When you have a chance, please review the suggestions provided in the AI Answer first and let me know whether any of those steps help resolve the issue.

I'd also like to follow up on the Independent Advisor's questions regarding the printer model and whether the printer is connected to your home Wi‑Fi network. While Bluetooth may allow Windows to detect the printer, many printers rely on a Wi‑Fi or USB connection for printing functionality.

If the issue continues after trying the suggested steps, please also let me know:

    • Whether you're able to print a Windows Test Page (Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > [your printer] > Printer properties > Print Test Page).
    • Whether the printer status in Windows shows Offline, Ready or any other message.
    • Whether the issue occurs when printing from all applications or only from a specific app.

Please keep me updated on the results and I'll be glad to help further.
