My Teams app. doesn't allow me to attach a file, pic., etc. Reading the comments, this appears to have been an issue since 2021, but I don't see a fix.

I'm experiencing this with the Teams app., teams via the web (Edge & Firefox), on 2 different laptops and my iPhone. Is there a fix?

    Hello DF836,

Thank you for providing the details.

Based on the information you've shared, I understand that you are unable to attach files in Microsoft Teams, and the attachment option is missing in both the Teams desktop application and Teams web version.

To help me investigate further, could you please provide the following information:

    • Are any of your colleagues experiencing the same issue, or is it only affecting your account?
    • Were you previously able to attach files in Teams without any issues? If so, when did the problem start?
    • Have there been any recent changes to your account such as email address, display name... or the account is recreated?

Since the Teams file attachment feature relies heavily on OneDrive, as attached files are stored in your OneDrive account, I would also like you to verify whether your OneDrive is functioning correctly.

    1. Sign in to OneDrive.
    2. Click the Settings (gear) icon in the upper-right corner.
    3. Select OneDrive Settings.
    4. In the left pane, choose More Settings.
    5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and review the URL.

The URL should have a format similar to:

    https://tenant-my.sharepoint.com/personal/username_domain_com/_layouts/15/onedrive.aspx

    Please ensure that:

    • The username_domain_com becomes ******@domain.com
    • There are no additional numbers, such as "1" or "2", appended to the username portion of the URL.

If you notice extra numbers or the URL does not correspond to your current account, it may indicate that your OneDrive site is not properly associated with your Teams account, which could cause attachment-related issues.

Additionally, if you are unable to access OneDrive at all, please contact your IT administrator to verify:

    • Your OneDrive license assignment.
    • Whether the OneDrive site has been successfully provisioned.

Please let me know the results of the above checks. This will help me to narrow down the issue and provide the appropriate next steps.

I look forward to your update.
