Conversations among multiple participants for collaboration and communication in Teams
To show a camera feed in a Teams meeting:
- Before joining the meeting, turn on the Camera toggle on the pre-join screen.
- If already in the meeting, select Camera in the meeting controls to turn video on.
- To preview the video first, select the dropdown arrow next to Camera. This lets the camera preview appear and also lets the background be changed.
- If the wrong camera is selected, in Teams go to Settings and more > Settings > Devices, then choose the correct camera under Camera.
If the face still does not appear:
- Close other apps that might be using the camera.
- If using an external camera, unplug it and plug it back in.
- Restart the device.
- Check for Teams app updates.
- If using Teams on the web, allow camera access in the browser:
- Edge: Settings and more > Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Camera > turn on Ask before accessing (recommended).
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Permissions > Camera > Settings and allow access for the Teams site, then refresh.
- Safari: Preferences > Websites > Camera > set When visiting other websites to Ask or Allow.
If using a Microsoft Modern Webcam, go to Settings and more > Settings > Devices and select Microsoft Modern Webcam under Camera. Also make sure the privacy shutter is open.
