    Hi,

Let's check some additional information to help resolve the issue:

    1. What is the make and model of your device?

In the search bar, type MSINFO32 and hit Enter.

Please share a screenshot of that window.

    2. Press Windows + X and choose Device Manager.

Click View > Show Hidden devices

Expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers.

Take a screenshot and share it here.

In the meantime, I suggest that you try the following, which usually fixes the same issue:

Use an older driver or uninstalling then reinstalling the driver:

    1. Press the Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
    2. Expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers.
    3. Right-click on your audio driver(Realtek HD Audio, AMD High Definition Audio, etc.)and choose Update driver.
    4. Choose "Browse my computer for driver software"
    5. Click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer."
    6. Select an older driver from the list and click 'Next.'
    7. Follow the onscreen instructions.
    8. if the problem continues, repeat 1-3 and hit uninstall device instead.
    9. Restart your computer(not shutdown) then check if the issue is resolved.

    Enable Windows Audio:

Press the Windows key + R, type services.msc and press Enter.

Scroll through the list and double-click "Windows Audio."

Click the "Start" or 'Restart' button to enable Windows Audio.

Double Click Windows audio, Choose Automatic from the Startup type, click Apply then Ok.

Since the problem started after a Windows update and the laptop uses Realtek audio, the supported path is:

    1. Check Windows Update again
      • In Windows 11: Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
      • In Windows 10: Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.
      • Install any available updates, then restart the laptop.
    2. Update the Realtek audio driver in Device Manager
      • Select Start, type Device Manager, and open it.
      • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      • Right-click Realtek High Definition Audio.
      • Select Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
      • Complete the update, then restart the laptop.
    3. Reinstall the audio driver if updating does not help
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      • Right-click the Realtek audio device and select Uninstall device.
      • If prompted, confirm uninstall. On some Windows versions there may also be a checkbox to remove the driver.
      • Save work first, then restart the laptop.
      • Windows should automatically reinstall the audio driver after restart.
    4. Try the generic Windows audio driver
      • In Device Manager, right-click the audio device.
      • Select Update driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
      • Select the audio device shown, choose Next, and finish the install.
    5. If sound stopped immediately after Windows Update, roll back the driver
      • In Device Manager, right-click the Realtek device and select Properties.
      • Open the Driver tab.
      • Select Roll Back Driver.
      • Follow the prompts and select Yes.
    6. If Windows still reports the best driver is installed
      • Download the latest audio driver from the laptop manufacturer’s support site for the exact laptop model.
      • Install it using the manufacturer’s instructions, then restart.

If the issue began only after the update, steps 3 and 5 are the most directly relevant.
