    Dear @026 Helen,

Based on your description, the image opens at a zoom level that does not display the entire picture within the Microsoft Teams image viewer.

Currently, Microsoft Teams does not provide a setting to automatically open chat images in "Fit to Screen" mode by default. The initial zoom level is controlled by the Teams image viewer and cannot be customized by end users.

In this situation, if the issue affects your workflow, I recommend submitting feedback to Microsoft through the Feedback portal Ideas · Community

The product team is in charge of the site, and they constantly check customer reviews and feedback. The higher votes, the more attention the related team will pay on and a lot of the features are developed and improved based on customer feedback.

In the meantime, here are some workarounds you can refer to:

    1. Open the image and manually zoom out using the mouse wheel, or select Fit to Screen if the option is available in your Teams version.
    2. Reset the Teams application zoom level by pressing Ctrl + 0 to ensure Teams is running at the default 100% zoom.
    3. Download the image and open it with an external image viewer, such as Windows Photos, which typically displays the full image automatically.

Please understand that as a forum user, I do not have the authority to influence Microsoft’s updates, features, or design decisions as user. I always try my best to provide helpful information and possible workarounds to support you with the issue you’re experiencing.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out.
