Hello Microsoft Support,

I am a Microsoft 365 Premium subscriber using a personal Microsoft account and I am trying to use the Interpreter feature in Microsoft Teams.

After reviewing the Microsoft documentation for Teams Interpreter and Language Interpretation, I believe my account is eligible, but the feature does not appear in my Teams client.

My Environment

  • Windows 11
  • Microsoft Teams Insider
  • Teams Version: 26198.304.4946.9672
  • Microsoft 365 Premium subscription (active)
  • Personal Microsoft account
  • Copilot Chat is available and functioning in Teams

What I Have Tested

  1. Updated Teams to the latest version.
  2. Confirmed Microsoft 365 Premium subscription is active.
  3. Confirmed Copilot Chat works in Teams.
  4. Created a scheduled Teams meeting.
  5. Joined both instant and scheduled meetings.
  6. Checked More (...) → Language and speech during meetings.

Expected Result

Based on Microsoft documentation, I expected to see:

  • Interpreter under Language and speech, or
  • Enable language interpretation in Meeting Options.

Actual Result

The only options visible under Language and speech are:

  • Show live captions
  • Turn on RTT for this call

Additionally, the Meeting Options page does not contain any Language Interpretation settings.

Request

Could you please confirm:

  1. Whether Microsoft 365 Premium personal accounts are currently eligible for the Teams Interpreter feature.
  2. Whether the feature is available in my region/account.
  3. Whether any additional license, Copilot entitlement, or feature rollout is required.
  4. Why the Interpreter option is not appearing despite an active Microsoft 365 Premium subscription and working Copilot Chat.

Personal accounts cannot be upgraded to a business account. You need to purchase a new business account.

Microsoft 365 Premium is a personal subscription, and therefore your Teams account is Personal too. Interpreter feature requires a Business account. This feature is not available with Teams Personal account (aka. Teams Free).
