As per Article Guests joining on desktop must switch to the correct org on the pre-join screen to attend. On web, guests must switch to the correct org in Teams to join.

But the switch option is available only when Guest user interact in teams else for new guest user who never had communication in teams with other tenant cannot join the meeting since there is no switch org option.

So for new Guest user switch org is not an option should be clarified in article or added more steps with screenshots.

The documented guest flow requires that the guest account already exist and be usable in the invited organization.

Supported facts:

  1. A guest must be added to at least one Team before guest access features and functionality are available to that guest account.
  2. To access a team as a guest, the invited person must accept the invitation first.
  3. For desktop joining as a guest, if the correct org is not shown, selecting Change should allow choosing the correct org. If multiple domain options do not appear after the guest account has been redeemed, Teams should be quit and restarted.
  4. If the goal is only to join a meeting with people in another Microsoft 365 organization, external access is the model called out for finding, calling, chatting, and setting up meetings with people in other organizations.

Based on that, the article wording is incomplete for brand-new guests. A new guest who has never redeemed the invitation or has not yet been added in a way that enables guest functionality may not have an org available to switch to. The prerequisite steps supported by the documentation are:

  1. Ensure the guest account has been created by invitation.
  2. Ensure the guest accepts the invitation.
  3. Ensure the guest has been added to at least one Team so guest functionality is available.
  4. Sign in to Teams desktop with the guest account.
  5. Open the account manager from the profile picture and switch to the invited org.
  6. If the org does not appear after redemption, quit and restart Teams.
  7. Join the event and verify the correct domain is shown on the pre-join screen.

For web joining, the supported content only states that guests must switch to the correct org in Teams to join. It does not provide additional supported steps for a first-time guest beyond accepting the invitation and accessing the invited organization.
