Cant Save new contacts or add or delete from contact groups

When are you going to fix this problem with Outlook as been going on for months and getting worse,

All most of us want to do is be able to add or delete contacts when we require and quite annoying as you can not use the Save button at all . We pay our money to use this service so please fix it so we can work.

Just to double check, are you able to add a new contact or is the Save button also missing on that dialog?

To edit a Contact List open the People module, click on Your contact lists. To edit the contact list hover over it and click the Edit button (pencil looking icon). This is how it looks on my Outlook:

When you click Edit you get this dialog to add people to the list. Is the Save button missing on this dialog?

tried changer browser size but cursor did not change so could not adjust the window

Hi,

The problem was fixed, as far as I know, with a server change.

Press Windows + R, type %localappdata%\Microsoft, and press Enter.

Delete the Olk and OneAuth folders.

Restart Outlook.

This only removes temporary Outlook data that will be recreated automatically. Your emails will remain safe.

Try saving the contacts again.

I look forward to hearing from you to get the results of the troubleshooting.

Can now add as new contact and saves but when trying to add into group contact there is no option after adding contact to save it in the group. What is maximum size of groups allowed as i only have 110 in one and 130 in other

Not sure I understand what you are asking. If you mean that when you save a new Contact, there is no option presented to immediately add them to a Contact List, on the new Contact screen? If so, that is how it works. Creating a new Contact is a whole different process from adding a Contact to a Contacts List.

But, I can see that if you are adding a lot of new Contacts, for the express purpose of adding them to a Contacts List, it would be handy to have.

I don't see any existing Feature Request for something like this, but you could create a new Feature Request for it at https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/post . If you do create a new Request, please put a link to it in a Comment here so the rest us can Vote for it. (You must "Sign In" at the top right of the Feedback page before you can create a new Request).

I can't find any docs on this. But it is generally understood that it can't be > 500, as this is the maximum number of recipients you can have on a single email.

The solution for adding a new contact and saving is now fixed But when i try to add that new contact to my groups i can type it in but it will not save as that is blocked out. I have never had a problem with this in last 6 years .

So you add recipient and automatically goes to bottom of list but you can not save it as the Add is blocked out and when you back out and come back in the name you added is gone again.

You are doing something like this?

Add and Save a new Contact

Select and Edit an existing Contact List

Start typing the name of an existing Contact in the "Add recipients" box. Outlook suggest a matching Contact.

You select the suggest Contact and it is added to the Members List.

But your [Save] button is not enabled?

[+ Add] is disabled if there is nothing in the "Add recipients" box. [+ Add] just adds a recipient to the list. It's [Save] that saves any newly added members.

The only way I can make Save/Cancel not visible is to either shrink my browser window down:

Or make my browser Zoom +200%:

Just as a test - Create a new Contact List. Add one member. Does it show Save/Cancel?

Just a workaround to let you get your work done while we continue to try and fix your problem with Outlook Web.

Install the Free New Outlook for Windows. It looks and works almost exactly the same as Outlook Web. https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nrx63209r7b

Another thing to try to fix the problem with Outlook Web.

Open a Private/Incognito browser session. (Please advise if you don't know how to do this)
Then in the Private/Incognito session copy/paste this link into the browser address bar:
https://outlook.cloud.microsoft/

Any difference?

A Private/Incognito session is just like a normal browser window, but it ignores any cookies, cache, or other data that your normal browser "remembers" about pages you have used in the past. This lets you open a "Clean" Outlook Web session.

We are testing to see if this is different than your normal Outlook Web. i.e. Can you see the "Cancel" and "Save" buttons?

Chrome Browser

Firefox Browser

Copy/paste this link into the browser address bar: https://outlook.cloud.microsoft/ and press Enter

This will open Outlook Web.
Sign in to your account like you would normally do.

Once you are in Outlook Web, edit a Contacts List.
Do you see the "Cancel" and "Save" buttons.
