    Hello Amit,

There is no Microsoft-defined "standard" RDP connection time. In a healthy LAN environment, an RDP session typically establishes within 1 to 5 seconds. Across a WAN or VPN, 5 to 15 seconds is generally considered normal, depending on latency, authentication methods, GPO processing, profile loading, and network conditions.

If initial logon consistently exceeds 20-30 seconds, it's usually worth investigating DNS resolution, domain controller responsiveness, FSLogix/User Profile loading, GPO processing, certificate validation, or network latency.

For troubleshooting, compare the time spent in:

    • Network connection phase
    • Authentication (NLA/CredSSP)
    • User profile loading
    • Group Policy processing

A successful RDP connection should normally complete in only a few seconds; there is no official SLA or fixed Microsoft standard for connection time.

    Harry.
