My Skype credit has been inactivated since July 2026. I try to re-activate following the instruction by updating billing address but still can't activate. Please reactivate my Skype credit.

Thanks and regards,

Have you used this site to reactivate your expired Skype credit?

    https://calling.web.skype.com/account/credit_reactivation

Are you by chance located in Japan? If so, then note that due to local Japanese regulations, expired credit cannot be reactivated. If credit was not used within the last 180 days, then this credit is lost.

    Hi Satina

Thank you for sharing the details of your situation.

Before we go any further, I’d like to gently clarify that this is a user to user support forum. I’m not part of the Microsoft billing team, so I don’t have the ability to directly cancel subscriptions or intervene on billing matters. That said, I truly hope I can help review your situation, offer some guidance, and support you in finding the right next steps as best as possible.

Skype was officially retired on May 5, 2025, and you can move to Microsoft Teams Free using your existing Skype credentials. However, if you are an existing paid user, you can still access and use your Skype Credit through the Skype Dial Pad on the Skype web portal or within Microsoft Teams Free.

Inactive Skype Credit can be reactivated by signing in to the account that holds the credit and selecting Reactivate Credit. The process may take up to 15 minutes, and Microsoft will send an email once it is completed.

Since you have already followed the reactivation instructions and updated your billing address but are still unable to reactivate the credit, the issue may require an account-level review by Microsoft Support. The support team can check your Skype paid service, payment profile, billing information, and any account restrictions that may be preventing the credit from being reactivated.

You can contact Microsoft Support through the following page: Contact Us - Microsoft Support

    Please follow these steps:

    1. Select Office, then choose Get home support.
    2. User's image
    3. Enter Skype Credit or briefly describe the issue in the box under We’re here for you, then click Get Help.
    4. Scroll down and select Contact Support.
    5. Sign in with the personal Microsoft account associated with your Skype Credit.
    6. Choose the option related to payments, billing, or Skype paid services.
    7. Depending on your region and support availability, you may be offered chat, call, or other contact options.

    Additional guidance: Contact Skype Support

Before contacting Support, please make sure you sign in with the same Microsoft or Skype account that was originally used to purchase and hold the Skype Credit.

I hope this helps move the case forward. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to share them in the comment below. I'm very happy to help.
