Microsoft Clipchamp - Cutout Pip only available when recording in progress?

I am using the "Record and Create" feature to record myself in front of my slides. The "screen and camera" option allows you to select the shape of the video "pip." One, called "Cutout Pip" removes the background so you can only see the slide behind me (see picture). However, when I end the recording process and view the video itself, the cutout pip function has not been preserved?

    Dear Landi Morris

Thank you for sharing the screenshot. From what you described, I understand that when you choose Cutout PiP while recording your screen and camera, the preview shows your background removed with the slides visible behind you. However, once the recording is finished, the cutout effect is no longer applied to the saved video.

This does not necessarily mean anything was set up incorrectly. The effect may not have carried over when Clipchamp processed the recording, particularly when the screen and camera were saved as separate clips.

Please try the options below and check whether the issue continues:

    1. Make a short test recording in the latest version of Microsoft Edge. This helps confirm whether the effect is being lost during processing or whether the issue is specific to the app or original project. If only the Windows app is affected, check the Microsoft Store for a Clipchamp update. Then open Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft Clipchamp > Advanced options and select Repair.
    2. If using Record & create > Screen and camera inside the editor, select Save and edit after recording. The screen and webcam should appear as two grouped clips on the timeline. Confirm that both clips are present before exporting.

For reliable results, record first, then do the cutout or compositing in the editor if needed, and export a new video from there. If the problem persists, send feedback through Help > Give feedback with a short sample video and screenshot so it could reach relevant product team for further investigation.

Please let me know how it goes after trying these steps, and I'll be glad to continue looking into it with you.
