Cannot find Azure Sponsorship credit under Microsoft for Startups

I was recently approved for $1,000 in Azure Sponsorship credits through Microsoft for Startups and am currently being reviewed for the next funding tier of $5,000. Please find the attached image. Unlock $1000

Before proceeding further, I would like to start by using the initial $1,000 credits. However, I’m not sure which Azure subscription these credits have been assigned to. At the moment, I can only see one subscription, “Azure Subscription 1,” which is my personal/default subscription that I originally created using a credit card.

Could you please confirm whether the Azure Sponsorship credits are associated with this subscription, or if a separate Azure Sponsorship subscription should have been created?

I have checked email but did not see any advise or instruction to claim $1000 Azure Credit.

Normally, the credits are assigned to the subscription. As you have got one subscription already, this would mean the credits are assigned to that subscription. When you join the Azure Startups program, you get $1,000 credits straight away. When looking at the available documentation, this looks to have been created under an Azure trial subscription.

To confirm this, please can you click onto the Azure subscription 1 through the your activity page. This should load the subscription details on the portal. Please look for subscription offer on the table.

My image above shows Azure for Students because this is my offer for that subscription. Yours should say free trial.

If you do see this, then the Azure credits are assigned to that subscription as these come with the free trial subscription for Azure. This means you can use them straight away.

In my case, I can only see the Azure Plan subscription, which is the paid subscription I originally set up with my credit card. I cannot find any other subscriptions, such as Azure Sponsorship, Azure for Students, or any other credit-based subscription.

Is this expected, or should a separate Azure Sponsorship subscription be visible in my account once the sponsorship credits have been granted?

Thanks for providing a screenshot of what you are seeing with your subscription.

When looking into the documentation on the Azure Startups program on getting started, it says the following.

If you applied without an investor code: You will see a confirmation tip in the top-right corner: You've unlocked $1,000 in Azure credits. Your credits are immediately available, and you can begin deploying resources right away. ~ Source: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/startups/build/azure-getting-started/activate#step-c5-land-on-your-build-your-startup-dashboard

When looking at your screenshot, you have a confirmation tip telling you that you have $1,000. However, there is no mention that the subscription has been created. Please can you click onto "Check verification status" under the allocated subscription. What does it say?

The $1,000 Microsoft for Startups credit is applied to an Azure Sponsorship subscription after Azure account setup. It is not typically applied to an existing personal/default subscription.

Based on the documented flow:

After application, Azure account setup must be completed before building can begin.
That setup includes profile, address, and payment information.
After setup is completed, the startup dashboard shows “You’ve unlocked $1,000 in Azure credits” and the credits are immediately available.
The credit balance can take up to 24 hours to fully update after account creation.

For an existing personal subscription such as “Azure Subscription 1,” the available guidance indicates startup credits are generally redeemed into a separate Azure Sponsorship subscription rather than the existing subscription.

What to check:

In the Azure portal, open Subscriptions and look for a subscription named Azure Sponsorship.
If Azure account setup was not completed yet, complete that process first. The setup requires profile, billing address, and payment information.
If setup was completed recently, allow up to 24 hours for the credit balance to appear fully.
If only the personal subscription still appears after that, submit a support request through the Azure portal for Azure account or technical issues.

The screenshot showing $1,000 in credits on the startup dashboard indicates the starter credits are unlocked at the program level, but the usable Azure subscription for those credits should normally be the sponsorship subscription created during activation.
