The Microsoft Update Catalog lets you search on various update fields and categories. These update fields include:

• Update title
• Description
• Applicable products
• Classifications
• Knowledge Base articles numbers in the format of KB1234567

When searching for hardware updates or drivers, you can also search for the following fields:

• Driver model
• Manufacturer
• Class
• The four-part hardware ID, such as PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1677&SUBSYS_01AD1028.

You can narrow the scope of your search by adding additional search terms. To search a specific string, use double quotes.

Some examples include:

• KB Number: KB5034441 Finds a specific update by its Knowledge Base article ID.
• Exact Phrase: "Windows 11" Puts terms in double quotes to look for that exact string in order.
• Mandatory Word: +Windows Uses a plus sign directly in front of a term to make sure it shows up in every result.
• Exclusion (Minus): Windows -Security Uses a minus sign to find updates with the first word while hiding results that contain the second word.
• Combined Keywords: Windows 10 x64 22H2 Spaces act as general filters to narrow down the OS version, architecture, and build.
