Teams will not allow me to switch between my user accounts

I am using Teams on my personal computer (Macbook) and I have a personal account, and one for my personal consulting business ( also on Mac). One of my clients required that I use a company laptop (Windows) and I have a Teams account associated with that email. The corporate (Windows) email seems to be dominate and I am unable to access Terams on my personal consulting business email ([Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]).

This is a problem as I show up in a meeting as a guest because I can't access my Teams account with the [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed] email.

    Hi Paul,

Thank you for providing the screenshots. Based on the error shown:

Access denied for the resource Tag: 49dvs

and the fact that the issue occurs when switching organizations/accounts, this is often related to cached authentication credentials, account-switching conflicts, or a permissions/policy issue affecting the target organization.

Since you're using multiple Microsoft accounts (personal, consulting business, and a client corporate account), I'd recommend the following troubleshooting steps on your Mac:

    1. Sign out of all accounts in Teams and completely quit the Teams application.
    2. Clear the Teams cache on your Mac.
    3. Open Keychain Access, search for Microsoft or Teams, and remove any Teams-related saved credentials.
    4. Test signing in directly with the business before adding any other accounts.

In the meantime, you can sign in your business account on Teams on the web to use it.

However, if the issue persists, you have to reach out to the organization's IT admin and request them to verify the Microsoft Information Protection API in Entra.

    • When this setting is disabled, many users experience the 49dvs error.

Additionally, this ApplicationId for TOU needs to be added to the Outbound Access Policy list. Here are the steps:

    1. Browse to the Azure Portal (https://portal.azure.com ) > Azure AD > External Identities > Cross-tenant access settings.
    2. Under the Organizational settings tab, select the Configured text under the Outbound access column.
    3. In the new blade, under the B2B collaboration tab, switch to the External applications tab.
    4. Select Add other applications, enter the ApplicationId from above: d52792f4-ba38-424d-8140-ada5b883f293, then select Submit.
    5. Save all changes.

I hope this provides enough clarity and helps you stay inform with your current situation.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.
