Conversations involving multiple participants, allowing collaboration and information sharing in Teams
Hello @Quazi, Ilyas Ahmed,
As far as I am aware, Microsoft Teams does not currently provide a built-in feature that allows end users to export an entire group chat with a single click. However, there are a few available options depending on your situation.
For end users:
- Open the chat in Teams desktop app or Teams for web.
- Scroll up to load the conversation history.
- Select the chat content ( and copy it into Word, Notepad, or another document.
- Some users have reported that copy/paste works better in newer Teams versions, although large conversations may still need to be copied in sections.
- You can also use the browser's print function and save the conversation as a PDF after loading the desired chat history.

For IT administrator/Microsoft 365 administrators: Organizations can use Microsoft Purview eDiscovery and Content Search capabilities to search, review, and export Teams content (if your organization have the appropriate licenses). Content Search can search Microsoft Teams content and export search results, but appropriate permissions are required, such as membership in the eDiscovery Manager role group.

If you are an end user and simply need a copy of the conversation, the copy/paste or PDF methods are usually the quickest approach. If you require a compliance or legal export, please contact your Microsoft 365 administrator, as they may be able to assist through Microsoft Purview.
I hope this helps. If your scenario is different (for example, exporting a channel conversation instead of a group chat), please provide more details and I'll be happy to assist further.
Thank you, and I wish you have a great day!
