    Hi,

Senthil Kumar already wrote how to use the built-in repair functionality. The most important thing before you do this, is to create a backup copy of your database file, because sometimes Compact & Repair can make things worse.

    If C&R doesn't help:

I've seen a lot in Access but never a "tab that says repair". Can you post a screenshot of what you see?

    Hi @John Gicheru

    • First take copy of your database then test the below solution.

database already opened : Go to the Database Tools tab on the ribbon → click Compact and Repair Database. Access closes the database, repairs it, and reopens it.

Without opening the database first (better if the file is corrupt and won't open normally):

    • Open Access to the start screen (don't open the broken file)
    • Go to Database Tools tab → Compact and Repair Database
    • In the dialog, browse to and select the corrupt file, then choose a name/location for the repaired copy

    set auto repair

Set it to run automatically: File → Options → Current Database → check Compact on Close.

    Thanks.
