Hello Microsoft Community,

I am facing an issue while trying to activate Azure for Students.

Earlier, my college Kanpur Institute of Technology (KIT), Kanpur, India used to appear in the college selection list during the verification process. However, now not only my college, but no colleges at all are appearing in the dropdown list. The list is completely empty, so I am unable to proceed with verification.

I have already tried the following:

  • Verified my GitHub Student Developer Pack.
  • Tried activating Azure for Students through the GitHub Student verification option.
  • Used different browsers (Chrome and Microsoft Edge).
  • Cleared browser cache and cookies.
  • Tried using Incognito/InPrivate mode.
  • Tried again after waiting for some time.

Unfortunately, the issue still persists.

Because no colleges appear in the verification list, I cannot complete the Azure for Students verification process.

Could someone please help me with the following questions?

  1. Why is the college verification list empty?
  2. Is this a temporary issue with the Azure verification portal?
  3. Is there an alternative way to verify my student status if my college does not appear in the list?
  4. Can Microsoft manually verify my student account or help me activate Azure for Students?

I would appreciate any guidance or assistance in resolving this issue.

Thank you!

    Hey there, Shauryman Dwivedi

Why is the college verification list empty?

I have tried the form on my side, and have ran into the same problem. When you inspect the developer console, there is a script that has been declared multiple times. I wonder if this is preventing the dropdown menu for the other universities/colleges to choose from.

Is this a temporary issue with the Azure verification portal?

I would think there is a problem with the Azure Student subscription sign-up form. I have passed this along to someone for them to raise.

Is there an alternative way to verify my student status if my college does not appear in the list?

You can try reaching out to Azure support, but this would require you having a subscription on your tenant. If you have a subscription on your tenant, please sign into your account on the help & support blade here: https://portal.azure.com/#blade/Microsoft_Azure_Support/HelpAndSupportBlade

Can Microsoft manually verify my student account or help me activate Azure for Students?

When contacting support, they will be able to explore available options for you. In some regions, I have been told they have manual verification. In the UK, I know the verification is done through the form.

    Hope this helps,
    Nathan

    1. May be you college domain is not registered.
    2. Yes, you can use alternative verification methods by requesting to add your institution or submitting manual documentation.
    3. No, Microsoft support agents cannot manually verify your student status or force-activate an Azure for Students account if the automated system rejects your school email or domain
