Hello,

I previously had an Azure Free Trial account, which has expired. Now, whenever I try to create an Azure account, I receive the error: “Your payment was not authorized by your bank.”

I have confirmed with my bank that my Visa card supports international transactions and there is no issue from the bank’s side.

Could you please check whether my account has any eligibility or verification restrictions and advise me on how to proceed?

Your expired Free Trial and the card authorization message are separate issues. Microsoft’s documented continuation path is to upgrade the existing subscription to pay-as-you-go. In the Azure portal, open Subscriptions, select the original Free Trial subscription, and choose Upgrade subscription or the upgrade banner. Complete phone verification if requested and add a supported physical credit or debit card.

Verify that the card is not prepaid or virtual, the billing address matches the country or region selected during signup, and sufficient funds exist for the temporary authorization. Retry in a private browser session with third-party cookies allowed. Bank confirmation of international transactions does not confirm Azure’s billing or eligibility checks.

There is no published fixed completion time. A successful portal upgrade is processed automatically; if the card remains declined or Upgrade is unavailable, Azure Billing Support must inspect the private restriction. Do not post card or subscription details publicly.
