Creating a Glossary in Excel - separating categories into tabs

Hello!

I am currently trying to create a glossary for my sign language class. This involves having a variety of headings including categories and subcategories depending on how the word is relevant (e.g. art, sport, history etc).

I am wanting one main tab with all the terms and a tab for each category to clearly outline them. HOWEVER, I would like to be able to edit the term no matter what tab I'm in and for them to update everywhere, rather than having to manually update it in every single tab.

Any advice?

Instead of duplicating the data across worksheets, keep one master table with all your terms and categories. Then use FILTER (or a PivotTable/Power Query if needed) on each category tab to display only the relevant entries. That way, you only edit the master list, and every category tab updates automatically.
