Subject: Azure Sponsorship not attached to account

Hello,

I have been accepted into Microsoft for Startups and received confirmation that I have been awarded $100,000 Azure credits. However, when I log into the Azure portal, I have no subscriptions, and the Microsoft for Startups page displays:

"We couldn't find Azure credits for this directory. Your startup credits may be associated with a different directory."

I have verified that I am signed in with the same account that received the acceptance email. Could you please check that my Azure Sponsorship subscription has been provisioned and attached to the correct directory?

Thank you.

    Hello asif mukhtar,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A,

Getting the acceptance email with the $100,000 credit confirmation doesn't automatically create your Azure subscription, you still need to run through the activation step, and the "couldn't find Azure credits for this directory" message almost always means either activation hasn't been completed yet, or you're signed into the wrong Microsoft account/directory when checking.

    1. Confirm you're signed in with the exact account used to apply The credits are tied to the specific Microsoft account (MSA) or work account you used during the Microsoft for Startups application, not just "an account with the same email domain." Sign out fully and sign back into portal.startups.microsoft.com with that exact account before checking again.

    2. Complete activation (this is the step most people miss) Go to the Microsoft for Startups Portal → Home page → click Activate AzureLink Microsoft account → confirm the account → Complete Azure sign-up (you'll need a payment method on file, you won't be charged unless you exceed credits). Credits can take up to 24 hours to appear after this.

    3. Check for a directory mismatch If you've activated before but still see nothing, in the Azure portal use the directory switcher (top right) to check if the sponsorship subscription landed in a different tenant than the one you're currently viewing. See Associate or add an Azure subscription to your Microsoft Entra tenant if you need to move it.

Since none of the self-service steps are showing your subscription at all, I'd go straight to Microsoft for Startups Program Support since credit/directory attachment issues are explicitly in their scope: https://aka.ms/startuphelp-mfs-portal
