How to connect Teams calendar to Outlook calendar

I have checked login criteria and I am logged into both Outlook and Teams with the same account.

My Teams Icon does not appear on the left Outlook bar. I can create a Teams meeting in Teams but it only gives me a link to copy. If I create a meeting in either Teams or Outlook, the entry does not sync to the other App. My Teams calendar and Outlook calendar do not sync. How can I connect the two and sync data?

    Hi Patrick Hofstadler

Based on your description, if you're using Microsoft Teams for business and Outlook with the same Microsoft 365 work account, the Teams and Outlook calendars normally use the same Exchange mailbox and should stay synchronized automatically. The Teams calendar is not a separate calendar.

To better understand the issue, could you please share:

    • Are you using Classic Outlook or New Outlook?
    • When you create a meeting in Outlook, does it appear in Outlook on the web (OWA)?
    • When you create a meeting in Teams, does it appear in the Teams web app but not in Outlook?
    • Is the issue affecting only your account or other users as well?
    • Do you see any errors in Teams or Outlook when creating meetings?

    Regarding the missing Teams button:

    • If you are using Classic Outlook, check whether Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office appears under File > Options > Add-ins > Active Application Add-ins. If it is disabled, re-enable it and restart both Teams and Outlook.
    • If you are using New Outlook, the traditional Teams COM add-in is not used. Instead, Teams meeting scheduling is built into Outlook.

I also found a discussion that seems similar to your issue. You can refer to it here: Teams is no longer visible on my Outlook Calendar - Microsoft Q&A

Also, please check whether your mailbox is hosted in Exchange Online (Microsoft 365). Teams calendar functionality depends on an Exchange mailbox, and calendar synchronization issues can occur if the mailbox is not properly connected.

I look forward to your response.
