cant download anything on laptop

If downloads are failing on every website, the issue is often related to browser settings, security software, or Windows permissions rather than the files themselves. Since the original post does not include the exact error message, a good next step is to test with a different browser (such as Edge or Chrome) and see if downloads work there.

You can also try:

1. Press Windows + R, type inetcpl.cpl and press Enter.
2. Open the Security tab and click Reset all zones to default level.
3. Restart the browser and test a download again.
