Creating an Azure account and entering your email address does not, by itself, confirm that a credit offer was activated. Check while signed in with the same Microsoft account you used to register:
- In the Azure portal, open Subscriptions. Look for an active subscription whose name matches the offer, such as Azure for Students, Azure Sponsorship, or Visual Studio. If you only see Pay-As-You-Go, the credit offer may not have been activated.
- For credits under a Microsoft Customer Agreement, go to Cost Management + Billing, select the correct billing scope, then open Billing > Payment methods > Azure credits. This shows the credit source, status, available balance, and expiration. Microsoft notes that new credits can take up to 24 hours to appear.
- For an Azure for Students/Sponsorship offer, sign in to the Azure Sponsorships portal with the same account to check the balance and expiry.
Also check Directories + subscriptions in the portal to make sure you are viewing the correct tenant, and search your inbox for an approval or activation email. If nothing appears after 24 hours, create an Azure support request under Subscription management/Billing.
Official guidance: Check Azure credit balance. Do not post your email address or subscription ID publicly.
