Where are the remaining documents in teams? I only can go to sharepoint to see them, can I get them back in teams?

In the most recent update the documents have been removed from the teams environment and I am being directed to Sharepoint, this forces me more clicks and workarounds and opening docs from Sharepoint instead of teams. Can this be avoided?

I'm having this same issue. It doesn't matter if I'm in the app or the web version. Everything we have in there is meticulously organized and easy to find. Going through Sharepoint is a miserable waste of my time and efficiency.

Doing so will allow Microsoft's technical engineering team to investigate your specific case directly and help identify the root cause as quickly as possible, with the goal of minimizing the impact on your workflow and productivity.

In the meantime, I'll continue keeping an eye on this issue and any updates shared within the community. If it turns out to be a broader issue affecting multiple customers, it may be necessary to escalate or report it further to ensure the appropriate Microsoft teams are aware and can investigate accordingly.

I solved it by going into SharePoint and drag/dropping those files into the General folder. Simple fix.

For us this wouldn't work as we have other stuff under general. Where we have also more open rights for teammembers on general

Hmm. Could you change that once you move them? Create a folder for those files that has those privacy settings?

I'd be happy to help look into this with you. To make sure I fully understand what you're experiencing, could you please help clarify a few details?

Are you referring to the Shared tab within a Team channel, or are the documents located somewhere else in Teams?
If this is related to a channel, is the behavior occurring in one specific channel or across all channels?
When you access the location where the files used to appear, are you being automatically redirected to SharePoint, or do you see a message prompting you to open the files in SharePoint? If there is a message, a screenshot (with any sensitive information removed) would be very helpful.
Which version of Teams are you currently using (Teams desktop app or Teams on the web)?
If you're using the desktop app, could you also try accessing the same files through Teams on the web and let me know whether the behavior is the same there?

Hi Rin,

I am using the desktop app, I did login onto teams online, that was loading a very long time and not providing me the recent channels I am using. Just the third time I got the correct settings and the appearance is the same online as on the desktop app. I am indeed referring to the tab shared in teams, does not matter which channel, none have the documents list anymore. We now added a shortcut to the documents ourselves but this does not seem to be the right way.

Based on what you've described, it sounds like the issue is not limited to the desktop client. Since the same behavior occurs in both Teams Web and Teams Desktop across multiple channels, this doesn't appear to be a client-side issue. It could be related to a backend service issue, a tenant-specific configuration, or another underlying factor that would require further investigation.

At this point, I would recommend opening a support ticket with Microsoft so that the relevant team can investigate further and determine the root cause. They have access to backend diagnostics and service logs that aren't available from the client side, which would be necessary to understand why the Shared tab is no longer displaying the expected document list.

If you're an end user, I recommend contacting your Microsoft 365 administrator and asking them to open a support case by following the guidance here: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

Tips: You can switch off the Support Assistant as shown in the screenshot, then type a few short characters into the search box and select Get Help. After that, wait for the Contact Support button to appear and click it. At the final step, be sure to clearly describe your request in the description fields so the support engineers can quickly understand your issue and assist you more effectively.
