I want to scan a document from my Epson ET-2800 printer to this laptop. Do I need a USB connection or can it be done via bluetooth?

    Hi John Clinton,

The ET-2800 supports scanning over Wi-Fi when both the printer and your computer are connected to the same wireless network. In that case, you can use the Epson Scan 2 software or the Windows built-in “Scan” app to initiate scans directly from your PC. Bluetooth, however, is not supported for scanning on this model, it’s typically limited to simple print jobs or mobile device pairing, not full scan functionality.

If you prefer, you can still connect via USB for a direct and reliable link, but most users find Wi-Fi scanning works smoothly once the Epson drivers are installed. Just make sure the Epson software package is up to date, and that your firewall isn’t blocking local network discovery.

In short: scanning works over Wi-Fi or USB, but not Bluetooth. Wi-Fi is usually the most convenient option for laptops.

I hope the response provided some helpful insight. If you find this answer useful, please hit “accept answer” so I know it addressed your concern.

    Jason.
