How do I add Microsoft teams to meeting invitations for classic Outlook?

  • There is no ellipsis for me to click to expand.
  • Yes, I hate the new Outlook.

    Hi @Kate Logan

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

In classic Outlook, you normally add a Teams meeting by creating a new meeting invitation and then selecting Teams Meeting from the meeting ribbon. Microsoft states that the Teams Meeting add-in should appear in the Calendar view and allows you to schedule Teams meetings directly from classic Outlook.

Since you mentioned that there is no ellipsis (...) and you're using classic Outlook, could you please clarify a few things?

    • When you create a new meeting request, do you see a Teams Meeting button anywhere on the ribbon?  User's image
    • In Outlook, if you go to File > Options > Add-ins, do you see Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office listed under Active Application Add-ins or Disabled Application Add-ins?
    • Do you have the Microsoft Teams desktop application installed and signed in with the same work or school account that you use in Outlook? Microsoft notes that the Teams desktop client is required for the Teams Meeting add-in in classic Outlook.

If possible, please share a screenshot of:

    1. The Outlook Calendar window.
    2. A newly created meeting invitation window.

Thank you for your time and cooperation. I appreciate your patience, and I'll be happy to assist further once you provide the additional information above.
