Changing between multiple Teams accounts within the app or browser
Hi Daemar,
I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing difficulties with Microsoft Teams across the mobile app, desktop app, and web browser. I also appreciate you taking the time to explain the troubleshooting steps you’ve already tried, including clearing cache/data, reinstalling Teams, and checking Android WebView.
Just a quick note before we continue: this is a user-to-user community forum, so I don’t have access to your Microsoft 365 tenant, your account, or your device to make changes directly. However, I’m here to support you the best I can within these constraints, by providing clear next steps, sharing applicable resources, and directing you to the appropriate support channels.
Based on your description, it appears that your student email may be linked to both a personal Microsoft account and a school/work Microsoft 365 account managed by your school’s IT department.
When signing in, if Microsoft asks “Which account do you want to use?”, please make sure to select Work or school account, not Personal account. This prompt can appear when two Microsoft accounts use the same email address, and Microsoft recommends renaming the personal Microsoft account by changing its alias/primary email to help avoid the conflict.
1/ Update the alias on your personal Microsoft account
To separate the personal Microsoft account from your school email, please try the following:
- Go to https://account.microsoft.com and sign in using the personal Microsoft account.
- Go to Your info.
- Select Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.
- Add a different personal email address as an alias.
- Verify the new email address.
- Make the new email address the primary alias.
- After that, you may remove the school email alias from the personal Microsoft account if you no longer want it associated with that personal account.
If you no longer need the personal Microsoft account at all, you may also consider closing it. However, please be careful before doing so, because closing a personal Microsoft account may affect access to personal Microsoft services such as Outlook.com, OneDrive personal files, Xbox, Skype, Microsoft Store purchases, or subscriptions connected to that account.
- After changing the email/alias on the personal Microsoft account, please try signing in to Microsoft Teams again using your school email, and make sure to select Work or school account if prompted.

2/ If the issue continues
If the Teams white screen issue still persists after that, the next step would be to contact your school’s IT department directly. Since your school account is managed by your school’s Microsoft 365 tenant, your IT team can check items that I cannot access from the community forum, such as:
- Whether your Teams license is assigned correctly
- Sign-in logs and authentication errors
- MFA or Conditional Access policies
- Whether your device is being blocked or marked as non-compliant
- Any school-managed Teams or Microsoft 365 policies affecting your account
Additionally, if needed, your IT team can also raise a support ticket with Microsoft Support through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center for deeper investigation. They have access to backend configurations and can perform a more in-depth investigation. At the very least, they can provide the most effective workaround to ensure your experience remains smooth and secure.
