How do I search in emails or all items (not only in todo)

That's because you are in the To Do module.

When you select the Mail module in the Navigation Bar on the left (or CTRL+1), you can search through all your emails.

well, not really. But closing and reopening Outlook did help

That's a quick fix ;-)

Just to be sure;
After restarting Outlook, does the issue reproduce when you select the To Do module again and then switch back to the Mail module?

If so; What is your exact Outlook Version and Build number as shown next to the About Outlook button?

A service-side fix has been released for an issue with the To Do Module in Outlook which caused the main Outlook interface to freeze or no longer refresh.

To get the fix, all you need to do is to restart Outlook. After that, see if the To Do module works as expected again and switching back to the Mail module also changes the Search Scope back to Mail again too.

In some cases, Outlook needs to be restarted twice to get the fix (wait 5 minutes before restarting Outlook).
