I have a older Windows 10 Pro desktop, partially upgraded, Windows 10 Pro, and it is functional for now. I need the Fractal desktop upgraded as my backup, until I can get a new MS Tower in place.

I have 2 older MS Windows 10 Plus Desktops, a Lenovo & a Fractal. The Lenovo is about 20-25 years old, upgraded as far as can go about 2 weeks ago. I have upgraded the Windows software (as far as it can be) and need my backup Fractal desktop for the same, as a backup. I am working (with issues here in Atlanta MI. to purchase a new Desktop, working with "Cutting Edge: in Gaylord MI. I have a LLC (3rd Year) ATES Intl. and want to bring it out of "Hold". I will appreciate a temporary upgrade - Windows 10 Pro, as I need this for a backup until I can get the new MS Dell Desktop asap.... with a few issues here in at my Home/Office. :-) I am 73, a 50 Yr. Aircraft Maintenance,"somewhat" retired.

I need this as a additional backup as new issues continue to crop up about every week, sometimes week and a half, office & some personal.

I have raised my security software a week ago, purged any Google I have had, and it is settling, I hope. Thanks, I have dumped Google completely and want to stick to pure MS.

    Hello Mike Conner,

Your Fractal desktop requires a transition to Windows 10 Pro to properly support your aviation business infrastructure. Because Microsoft discontinued direct digital sales of Windows 10 licenses and ended standard support in October 2025, you must acquire a standard Windows 11 Pro retail product key from an authorized major retailer. Microsoft's licensing architecture is backward compatible, allowing this newer key to natively authenticate a Windows 10 Pro environment.

To bypass, you must first disconnect your computer entirely from the internet. Once offline, click your Start menu, open the Settings gear, and navigate to the Update and Security section. Select the Activation panel and click the option to Change Product Key. You will temporarily enter Microsoft's official edition-upgrade placeholder key, VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T, which cannot activate the system but acts as a secure command to unpack the dormant professional-grade features already residing on your hard drive.

Your system will configure the new architecture and automatically restart. After the machine reboots into Windows 10 Pro, reconnect to the internet and return to the exact same Activation panel. Click Change Product Key one final time and carefully type in the twenty-five-character Windows 11 Pro retail key you purchased. The system will securely bridge to Microsoft's digital entitlement servers, validating your legal license while keeping all your personal files, aviation documentation, and security software completely intact.
