hi Jack Callahan & thx for sharing urs issue here at Q&A portal,
If you're waiting for approval to provision an Azure SQL service in East US, the timeline isn't fixed. Requests related to regional capacity or subscription restrictions can take anywhere from a few business days to several weeks, depending on the reason for the restriction. Unfortunately, there's no public way to track the internal approval queue. Only Azure Support can see the status of the request.
While waiting, I'd recommend сonfirm the support ticket is still active and request an update on its status.
If this isn't a hard regional requirement, try deploying in another nearby region to determine whether the issue is capacity-related or subscription-specific.
If this is blocking your work, ask Support to escalate the case to the Azure SQL capacity/provisioning team.
If you can share the exact error code from the deployment (for example, LocationIsOfferRestricted, SubscriptionIsOverQuotaForSku, etc.), it will help determine whether you're waiting for capacity approval, a quota increase, or another provisioning restriction.

Alex
