Why is old Teams classic app still not updated to the newer Teams in macOS? Shouldn't it be supposed telling me or done automatic? It says Classic isn't supported. I haven't used MS Teams for over a year since Zoom was used a lot. I noticed MS AutoUpdater doesn't even show MS Teams. Shouldn't that be doing Teams updates?

This is in an Intel MacBook Pro from 2020. Currently, it runs updated macOS Sequoia v15.7.7. MS Teams came from MS Office installer's download web page in https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-office-for-mac back in January 2020 IIRC. I had to use Teams' web version for an online meeting for today. :(

    Hi @Ant-5478 ,

Classic Teams has already reached end of availability, so it’s no longer a supported or functional client and won’t update or work anymore.
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-classic-client-end-of-availability

It also won’t appear in Microsoft AutoUpdate. Teams uses its own update mechanism, checking for updates at startup and periodically in the background. So not seeing it in MAU is expected and not necessarily the root cause.

Your macOS version seems to be within the supported range, so the issue is that the installed app is too old and never transitioned to the new client. In this case, the practical fix is to remove Classic Teams and install the current Teams app directly from Microsoft’s Teams download page.

If needed, the web app is the fallback/workaround Microsoft recommends for users who can’t use the desktop client.

    Regards,
