Is the WinRTC project still active?

MS was at one time sponsoring a WinRTC project (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/winrtc/). It even had an email address "WinRtcTeam@microsoft.com." The email address seems to be no longer active.

Is the WinRTC project still active?

    Hello @WoodManEXP ,

Currently, there has been no official announcement from Microsoft regarding the deprecation or final status of the WinRTC project. However, as you may have noticed from the project's GitHub repository and documentation, there has been no recent activity or updates for quite some time.

Given the lack of recent updates and active support channels, I generally advise caution if you are planning to use it for new, outward-facing production environments, as relying on unmaintained repositories can introduce risks.

If you need stable WebRTC capabilities for Win32 applications today, you might want to look into alternative such as the WebView2 control to leverage browser-based WebRTC implementations.

Hope this clarifies the current situation! If you found my response helpful or informative, I would greatly appreciate it if you could follow this guide for your confirmation.

    Thank you.

The provided information does not state whether the WinRTC project is currently active or inactive. It only describes what WinRTC is, how to get started, and includes a “What’s New” page last mentioning updates from July 2020, plus a “Road Map – Coming soon!” note without further status details. No current project status or deprecation notice is given.

For the latest status or questions (such as feature requests or issues), the documentation directs users to the WinRTC GitHub repository issue tracker.
