    Good day @Emmanuel

Thank you for sharing your concern.

Just to gently clarify before we go any further, this is a user‑to‑user support forum. I don’t have the ability to access or investigate individual accounts because this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators and contributors, including external Microsoft employees, do not have access to internal systems or the ability to directly take action on Microsoft product features. However, I truly hope I can help review your situation, offer some guidance, and support you in finding the right next steps as best as possible.

Based on what you described, this issue is commonly related to incomplete guest setup, invitation acceptance, or access policies from the host organization that may prevent successful sign in.

To help me better understand the situation and assist you effectively, could you please share a few details such as:

1/ Which platform are you using Teams on mobile, desktop, or web?

2/ What operating system is your device using (Android/iOS or Windows/macOS)?

3/ Have you signed in to this guest account before, or is this your first time?

4/ Do you see any error code when switching to the guest account? If yes, please share a screenshot. (Please make sure to blur or cover any personal or sensitive information in the screenshot to protect your privacy)

This will help me better understand the context and provide more targeted support. Any additional information will help me better understand and support you.

In the meantime, you can try the steps below to ensure the guest account is set up correctly:

Step 1: Accept or redeem the guest invitation again

Open the invitation email sent by the host organization.

Select the option to open Microsoft Teams or accept the invitation.

    User's image

Make sure the process completes fully.

If the invitation was not fully accepted, the guest account may not appear or work correctly in Teams.

Step 2: Try switching to the guest account in Teams

    Open the Teams app.

Tap or click your profile picture.

Select the guest organization from the list.

If the guest organization does not appear, it may indicate the invitation has not been fully redeemed, or the account has not been added to a Team yet.

Step 3: Sign out and sign back in

Open Teams and go to Settings > Select Sign out.

Sign in again using the account that was invited as a guest.

This helps refresh the session in case the app is still using your personal account instead of the guest profile.

Step 4: Confirm access with the host organization

If the issue continues, please contact the IT administrator of the host organization and ask them to verify the following:

1/ Guest access is enabled in Teams Admin Center:

Go to the Teams admin center > Navigate to Settings & policies > Guest access settings > Ensure that Guest access is turned On.

This allows external users to participate in Teams. Without this setting enabled, guest collaboration will not work.

2/ Your account has been added to at least one Team:

In Microsoft 365 admin center > Users > Guest users, confirm your guest account exists. Then go to Teams & groups > Active teams & groups and verify your guest account has been added to at least one Team.

Guest permissions in Teams are only fully activated after being added to a Team.

3/ Confirm Microsoft 365 Groups settings:

Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center > Navigate to Settings > Org settings > Microsoft 365 Groups.

    Ensure both options are enabled:

    • Let group owners add people outside your organization to groups.
    • Let group members outside your organization access group content.

These settings control whether external users can be added to Teams and access associated content.

4/ External access settings allow guest collaboration:

In Microsoft Entra admin center > Entra ID > External Identities > External collaboration settings, review guest collaboration settings, any blocked domains, and cross-tenant access settings.

5/ There are no Conditional Access or MFA policies blocking your sign in:

In Microsoft Entra admin center > Conditional Access > Policies, review any policy targeting guest/external users, especially MFA or authentication strength requirements. Also confirm cross-tenant MFA trust is configured as intended.

Guest access in Teams depends on Microsoft Entra B2B and organization level security policies. Restrictions from the host side can prevent access even if your account is valid.

Step 5: Allow time for propagation

After making changes. Please try again after some time.

In some cases, guest access provisioning can take several hours to fully apply.

Additional information is available in the following resource: Conditional Access - Authentication strength for external users - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Le…

I hope this information is helpful. If you have any questions or need further support, please don’t hesitate to reach out at any time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

For Microsoft Teams sign-in and account switching issues like this, the most relevant supported step is to completely remove and reinstall the affected apps on the device, which has resolved similar guest/account sign-in problems on mobile.

On the Samsung (or other mobile) device where the issue occurs:

    1. Uninstall Microsoft Teams.
    2. If Outlook or other Microsoft 365 apps are also involved in the same sign-in/session, uninstall them as well.
    3. After uninstalling, restart the phone.
    4. Reinstall Microsoft Teams from the app store.
    5. Open Teams and sign in first with the primary account.
    6. Add the guest account again from within Teams (Switch account/Add account) and try switching to it.

If the problem persists after a clean reinstall and restart, contact the organization that owns the tenant for the guest account (for example, the school or company IT/admin) so they can verify that the guest account is enabled and correctly configured.
