Please help me. Let's say someone in my office uses Google Earth Pro daily, ever since the Windows 11 update their print preview has been missing, it just says "This app doesn't support print preview." Our IT company has tried to fix it with no luck. I need to get this turned around because if I hear about it one more time I am going to scream. Thank you for your time.

    Hello HJe,

The missing print preview in Google Earth Pro after upgrading to Windows 11 is a compatibility regression. Google Earth Pro relies on legacy print APIs that Windows 11 no longer fully supports, which is why you now see the message “This app doesn’t support print preview.” This is not something you can fix through local settings or printer drivers, as the functionality has been deprecated at the OS level. The only reliable workaround is to bypass print preview entirely by exporting the map view to an image or PDF using File → Save → Save Image or File → Print → Microsoft Print to PDF, then print the resulting file.

If your analysts require daily hard copies, the recommended process is to standardize on the PDF export workflow, which avoids the broken preview layer and ensures consistent output across devices. Google has not released an update to restore print preview on Windows 11, and Microsoft has confirmed that legacy preview hooks are no longer supported. Until Google updates Earth Pro, this workaround is the only supported path.

    Thank you,

    QQ.

The message “This app doesn't support print preview” indicates that the application is not exposing a standard Windows print-preview surface. In that case, Windows cannot force a preview; only the app vendor (Google, for Google Earth Pro) can change that behavior.

From the Windows side, the only supported actions are to verify that printing itself still works and that the issue is not a general Windows print problem:

    1. Test printing from other apps
      • Open an app such as Notepad, Paint, Word, or Excel.
      • Try printing a simple document.
      • If printing works and only Google Earth Pro fails to show print preview, the problem is isolated to that app.
    2. Confirm Windows printing is healthy
      • In Windows 11, select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
      • Select the printer > Printer properties > Print Test Page.
      • If the test page does not print, follow the Windows print troubleshooting steps (update/reinstall printer drivers, restart the Print Spooler service, and run the printer troubleshooter) as described in the printing article.
    3. Restart the Print Spooler and update printer drivers (if there are broader issues)
      • Press Windows key + R, type services.msc, press Enter.
      • Find Print Spooler, right‑click, choose Restart.
      • Open Device Manager, expand Printers, right‑click the printer, choose Update driver. If needed, uninstall and let Windows reinstall the driver after a restart.

If all other apps can print and show print preview correctly, and only Google Earth Pro shows “This app doesn't support print preview,” then Windows is functioning as designed and the limitation is on the Google Earth Pro side. In that case, the next step is to work with Google’s support or check for an updated version of Google Earth Pro that restores or changes its print behavior on Windows 11.
