Hello, I found that my teams screen sometimes got stuck in the middle of the meeting while using Teams app on my laptop, especially when I turned on my camera. I could still hear others speaking, but I had to quit and rejoin to recover from the stuck. Are there any methods to solve this problem? I think my Teams settings are all default.

    Hi @Andy Lee

Regarding your issue, may I kindly ask a few questions to help understand it better.

    • I saw that you posted your question under the Business category so to better support you, would you mind letting me know is this account a personal Microsoft account (e.g., account.microsoft.com) or a work/school account (e.g., myaccount.microsoft.com) provided by an organization?
    • Does this issue also occur when using Teams on the web (for example, via Edge or Chrome), or does it only happen in the Teams desktop app?
    • Have you tried joining the same meeting from another device (e.g., a different laptop or mobile phone)? If so, does the issue still occur when you turn on your camera there?
    • Are other participants in your meetings experiencing similar behavior (screen freezing when turning on camera), or is this only affecting your account/device?

In the meantime, here are a few steps you can try:

    1. Turn off Efficiency mode:
    • Go to Settings and more > Settings > General, scroll to Efficiency mode, and select Never use efficiency mode.
    • User's image
    1. Sign Out of Teams and clear cache
    • Open Teams, select your profile picture at the top right, then select Sign out.
    • User's image
    • Make sure Teams is fully closed check the system tray near the clock to confirm it's not still running.
    • Clear Teams cache following this article for step-by-steps instructions according to your device Windows/MacOS (New Teams): Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams
    1. Update your drivers and Teams
    • Try updating your camera and display adapter drivers via Device Manager, and make sure Teams is on the latest build.
    1. Check Nahimic audio driver
    • Additionally, it may be worth checking whether your device has Nahimic audio software installed, as there is a known issue where Nahimic can interfere with video rendering in the new Teams desktop app, particularly when turning the camera on during a meeting.
    • For more details, please refer to: New Teams desktop app fails to render video - Microsoft Teams

Hopefully it will help work with your issue and if you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.

This is usually caused by a camera/driver conflict, Teams GPU hardware acceleration, or corrupted Teams cache; start by disabling GPU acceleration, updating camera drivers, clearing Teams cache, and testing a call — these fixes resolve most “video stuck” issues.
