The legacy launcher still depends on Microsoft account sign-in. On Windows 7, the authentication process may no longer complete correctly because it relies on newer components that aren’t fully supported on that OS.

Here's what you can try at this point:

1, Use offline mode (if previously signed in) - this works only if credentials were cached before

• Disconnect internet
• Open the launcher
• Start Minecraft in offline mode

2, Lightweight alternative setup (for older hardware)

• Consider running a newer Windows version (Windows 10) with minimal configuration
• Then install the standard launcher and sign in normally

The behavior is caused by authentication compatibility rather than just the launcher itself, and there isn’t a supported way to bypass the login prompt on Windows 7.
