windows re size after lock screen

This behavior usually happens because Windows temporarily treats the display as “changed” when the PC is locked/unlocked (similar to sleep or screen-off events). When that happens, apps restore their positions using a fallback resolution or layout, which causes them to resize or move.

Please try these quick adjustments:

1, Enable display position memory

• Go to Settings > System > Display > Multiple displays
• Turn ON: Remember window locations based on monitor connection
• Turn OFF: Minimize windows when a monitor is disconnected

2, Test with Snap windows off

• Go to Settings > System > Multitasking
• Turn OFF Snap windows (for testing)

3, Remove old display profiles

• Open Device Manager
• Click View > Show hidden devices
• Expand Monitors
• Uninstall any faded/grey entries
• Restart the PC

This usually happens when windows thinks the display setup changed while the PC was locked, asleep , or powering on You might want to enable this setting on windows 11 "Remember windows locationa based on Monitor" If that doesnt work try updating your graphics drivers.
