Accidentally set audio and video access to do not allow on a previous session. How do I undo that.

    Hi Elise Kisyma

I understand how frustrating this is, especially after accidentally selected Don’t allow for audio and video access.

Have you already tried the Q&A Assist suggestions under your post? If yes, did you face any difficulties with those steps?

To make sure I guide you to the correct setting, could you please confirm:

    • Are you using Teams Free in the desktop app, Teams in a web browser, or the mobile app?
    • Also, are you using Windows, Mac, iPhone/iPad, or Android?

The steps to re-enable camera and microphone access will be different depending on this, so once I know, I can point you through the exact fix.For reference, you can see: Manage your device settings in Microsoft Teams Free

Looking forward to your reply so we can continue with the right next steps.

To re‑allow audio and video access in Microsoft Teams after choosing “Don’t allow,” permissions must be turned back on for the camera and microphone.

    On desktop (Teams app):

    1. Open Teams.
    2. Select the three dots at the top of the window.
    3. Select Settings > App permissions.
    4. Select Assignments.
    5. Turn Media on (this re‑enables both camera and microphone).
    6. Rejoin the meeting or activity; if prompted by the system browser or OS, choose Allow for camera and microphone.

    On mobile (Teams app):

    1. Open Teams.
    2. Tap the icon with the user initials (profile icon).
    3. Tap Settings > App permissions.
    4. Tap Assignments.
    5. Make sure both Camera and Microphone are toggled on (purple).
    6. Reopen the meeting or Reading Progress/assignment; when prompted, tap Allow for camera and microphone.

If App permissions are not visible on iOS:

    1. Open the device Settings app.
    2. Scroll down and select Teams.
    3. Turn on the Microphone and Camera toggles.

After these steps, audio and video access will be restored for Teams.
