HAVING (ALMOST) PROBLEMS WITH TEAMS SINCE THE INTEGRATION OF SKYPE

When integrating Skype with Teams, an account was automatically created at the start.

A.) I’d like to delete this at last, as it keeps reappearing, but I don’t have access to delete it. Microsoft’s response: Contact your administrator – where – doesn't exist!

B.) Well, there isn’t one, and as with the email address generated by Microsoft itself, we don’t know where or how to access it.

We have a similar problem with the new account. We want to use Teams for work and are also willing to pay for it if the service works. Microsoft has sent payments to my registered (for Teams) email address, with the note that if I wish to view the invoices, I can do so via the relevant login.

C.) Well, when logging in, it says here too: ‘That Microsoft account doesn’t exist’!!! Even though we’re online with our accounts...... Finding a solution here was – more or less – hopeless.

We are willing to pay for Teams because we want to use the service for work, but I don’t need an Office package included in the price; I just need a subscription for Teams.

D.) Is that possible, and how much does it cost?

E.) Why does this bother us? Because we keep ending up on the wrong, unused accounts when logging in, and we have to start everything from scratch and try again and again to see if this is really the only usable account.

It would be great if Microsoft could really help here, because it’s extremely tedious to have to tell our communication partners over and over again: “Sorry for the delay, we’re having Teams login problems”.

    Hi,

This issue is usually caused by multiple Microsoft identities created during the Skype → Teams integration, which leads to login conflicts and “account doesn’t exist” errors.

    Try the following steps:

    1. Sign out of all Microsoft accounts completely (Teams, browser, Office apps).
    2. Open an InPrivate/Incognito window and sign in again at: https://account.microsoft.com
    3. Make sure you select the correct account type:
      • Personal Microsoft account (Outlook/Hotmail/Skype)
      • Work or school account (if applicable)
    4. If Teams keeps switching accounts, check linked organizations here: https://myaccount.microsoft.com/organizations and leave any unwanted ones.
    5. Clear your browser cache or try a different browser if the issue persists.

    For Teams subscriptions:

    • If you only need Teams (without Office), you can use Microsoft Teams Essentials (paid standalone plan) or Teams Free.

If the issue continues, it likely requires Microsoft Support to identify and clean up duplicate identities or subscription mapping.

Could you confirm whether you are using a personal or work account, and whether Teams Free or a paid plan is involved?

    Thanks.
