Error loading add-ins Word Mac 16.109

Both in word and excel for Mac, installing add-ins are not working for me.

I have a 365 family subscription.

I have the last version of Office 365 released may 25th - Mac Version 16.109.2 (26052523).

When I try to add an add-in the message "Error loading add-ins" shows on the ribbon at the bottom, for ALL add-ins.

I have already cleared the cache, deleted preferences, signed out/in, deleted vaults, group vaults, … (plus all existing Microsoft files in my Mac) and reinstalled the full Office 365.

IMPORTANT:

  1. On the web online (e.g. excel.cloud.microsoft) it works perfectly,
  2. Some days ago everything worked fine. Not sure if it is the last version of Office (May 25th) or if I am doing something wrong.

Thanks

    Hello Vicente Conesa,

    I suggest the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Go to: System Settings --> Privacy & Security --> Full Disk Access
      then, Give access to: Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel.
    2. Feel free to clear the below path (cache) as well.
      ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Office365ServiceV2/Data/Library/Caches ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Word/Data/Library/Caches ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Excel/Data/Library/Caches
    3. Check (Key Chain) for old credentials.
    4. Enable WebGL
      Open Safari --> Settings --> Advanced
      WebGL = ON
      JavaScript = Enabled
      Then, open (Terminal) App & type this command defaults write com.microsoft.office OfficeWebAddinDisableWebView2 -bool false
      Restart your Macbook
    5. Roll Back to the Previous Version or other Update Channel

    Best,
